“And Moses said to the people, ‘Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will work for you today’” (Ex 14:13).
Israel was on the banks of the Red Sea. The water was before them, and the approaching Egyptian army was behind them. What would they do? They were stuck – at least, that is how it appeared from the word’s perspective. But God would deliver them! He would save his people with his mighty outstretched arm. They need only be still and watch. All they were called to do was follow the voice of the Lord and trust in his faithful word. The same is true for us today. God woks salvation for us. He redeems sinners. He raises the dead. We need only believe, rest, and trust his sure promise. Dear Christian, fear not, for God has worked salvation once and for all in the death and resurrection of his Son.
