“For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God” (1 Cor 1:18).
Do you love the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ? Does it nourish your soul? Is it sweet to your ear? Does the truth of Jesus Christ laying down his life for sinners and opening the way to forgiveness and eternal life in heaven stir your heart to joy and worship? The gospel is the power of God to raise the spiritually dead unto new life in Christ. There is no other power like the power of the gospel. There is nothing else that can open the eyes of the spiritually blind and raise the spiritually dead. In contrast, the gospel is the height of folly to the one who rejects it – to the one still lost and dead in their sins. Tragically the unbeliever rejects the very medicine that can save his soul – the saving message of Jesus Christ. May the good news of Jesus be the sweet savor to our hearts and blessed nourishment to our souls this day!
